Scale-Up & Process Development Manager for Recombinant Peptide & Protein Production (m/f/n)
The Company
mk2 Biotechnologies is a start-up that enables the application of peptides & proteins for mass applications. For this purpose, we combine conventional recombinant protein production with our disruptive purification toolbox to develop novel highly effective large-scale and low-cost production processes. By that, we provide the yet missing toolbox to provide techno-economically feasible products that are already on the doorstep of changing the world.
Your Role
As a permanent member of our R&D unit you will be part of our young, competent team sharing the passion for our technologies. We are looking for an individual with strong expertise in the field of recombinant production and in particular of purification of proteins at least on a pilot scale to be the center of gravity between our lab team, customers, production partners and the management team. As a coordinator and sparring partner of our CDMO network you will be responsible for the tech transfer, improvement and industrialization of our established technologies, and for developing appropriate scale-down models to accelerate the development of lab-scale processes. Your Profile
Hard facts:
- Completed studies, ideally with a PhD, in bioprocess engineering, molecular biotechnology, biochemistry, biology, or similar
- Profound practical and theoretical knowledge in the following areas is mandatory:
- Recombinant production of proteins in glass & steel fermenters in microbial host systems, ideally up to 1 m³
- Protein isolation & purification via industrially established methods, particularly separation & filtration techniques
- Operation, operating modes, maintenance & quality assurance of corresponding production equipment
- Standard molecular biotechnological methods (SDS-Page, WB, MS etc.)
- Fluency in English is a must, German is beneficial
